Denmark needs more entrepreneurship students
|

|
For the first time ever a survey has been carried out of all entrepreneurship courses offered at the eight universities in Denmark. The survey shows that only 3 to 5 percent of all students do entrepreneurship courses during their studies.
Øresund Entrepreneurship Academy has carried out a survey and analysis of all entrepreneurship courses offered at the Danish univeristies in the fall semester of 2007. For the first time we have a complete picture of the content of the courses, which pedagogical methods are used and how may students actually do the courses.
"The survey shows that the universities offer a wide range of entrepreneurship courses with different focal points. But the analysis also shows that we need even more courses - especially ones with focus on growing an enterprise, if the objective is to educate competent knowledge and growth entrepreneurs", says Managing Director Christian Vintergaard, Øresund Entrepreneurship Academy.
The findings show that appr. 3 to 5 percent of all students at Danish universities do an entrepreneurship course some time during their studies. Numbers from leading international universities show an average of 10 to 20 percent. There is still a way to go before Denmark has reached the international level.
