For more than two years now, Øresund University has set businesses in motion by establishing a common interregional and crossinstitutional academy for promoting entrepreneurship. This is well in line with Øresund University’s other activities, which should be seen as not only a transnational project, but a unique integration project, which has been described by the OECD as truly unique worldwide.

The Academy project was launched in accordance with the idea that the potential for
increased economic growth via innovation and entrepreneurship does not occur on its own.
A focused effort is necessary, and this is why the Øresund Entrepreneurship Academy
was established.
Furthermore, the project was also set in motion in order to satisfy the wishes of politicians,
the business community and students, and to make it just as plausible for students
to ‘start up their own' as to take a job following graduation.
Øresund University forms an ideal base for this project, as the challenges it represents
help pull people together.
The Academy was launched as an independent entity under the Øresund University in September 2006 and is co-financed by the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority, the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, Scania Region and the Greater Copenhagen Authority. |
