Center for Innovation og Entrepreneurship at CBS
Copenhagen Business School (CBS) has approximately 15,000 students and hosts approximately 1,000 exchange students annually. With the student body, approximately 400 full-time researchers and around 500 administrative employees, CBS is the third-largest business school in Northern Europe.
CBS was established in 1917 by the Danish Association for Young Merchant Education as a private educational institution. In 1965 the school was integrated as an institution of higher education in the Danish Educational System and today falls under the Danish University Law of 2003.
CBS’ goals are as follows: • To contribute to the increased value of society and businesses alike.• To educate Master’s-level students who are competitive in an international labour market.
• To develop research-based knowledge in partnership with the business community.
Research and education at CBS is organised in the Business Finance Faculty and the Faculty for Language, Communication and Culture.
CBS is a business school with a special focus on entrepreneurship. Of the lines of study with a special focus on entrepreneurship, the following should be named: Management of Innovation and Business Development (MIB), International Marketing and Management (IMM) and Design & Communication Management. In addition, CBS also participates in the interdisciplinary Common Project Management and Innovation Course, a collaboration between Copenhagen’s five largest universities. In 2002, a number of CBS courses received the “Jante Educational Award” as the best innovation role model in the Greater Copenhagen area. CBS was also selected as “Denmark’s Entrepreneurship University of the Year” in 2004. Furthermore, CBS offers a number of institutes and centres, that focus especially on entrepreneurship: the Centre for Knowledge Governance (CKG), the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), the Centre for E-business, the Centre for Design and Business Development, and the Centre for Management, Organisation and Competence, a research collaboration between Aarhus University, Southern Denmark University, the Aarhus School of Business and the CBS, that focuses on, among other areas, the management and development of human resources in SMEs, business change and renewal, innovation and entrepreneurship, business organisation and competence building in a cooperative perspective, and the management of knowledge processes. |
