I continue with discipline, but now I am using the artist’s way to be spiritual. Hsieh: I have no interest in the spiritual but I am in some ways like a monk who is dedicated in a serious way. My dedication is to my art work. I am interested in the philosophical and in life experience. I try to make sense of who I am and what I am doing in my life without God.
Hsieh: New York art, Dostoyevsky, Franz Kafka, existentialism – that inﬂuences me. Also, I am oriental.
