Many organizations that are chartered to narrow product lines, such as Community Chest and United Fund organizations, can discriminate among customers—collecting larger amounts from some and smaller amounts from others. 7 His data indicated that total eVectiveness was a monotone increasing function of size; although eVectiveness per member declined in large Leagues, there was no indication that total eVectiveness ever decreased.

Small businesses indicate that this is a source of concern to them. One reason survival correlates with size is the relation between size and age. Large organizations tend to be older than small ones; they have accumulated more knowledge about the problems they are likely to encounter and they employ personnel that are more experienced.
